Sorry we’re annoying you…

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Make it stop! Okay, so I gotta disagree with Giselle’s post from yesterday - Katy Perry’s song has officially gotten old! I don’t know about you, but I’m SICK of hearing it every two hours! I’m sure you are as well, and for that, I’m SO sorry! Here’s what your options are:

1. Post your comments here! We want to know if you really hate the song. (Or not…let us know if we should start playing it EVERY hour!)

KISSING A GIRL HAS YET TO GET OLD

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

It’s been six straight weeks at the top of the Billboard Chart for newcomer Miss Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl with no implications of her dropping down the ladder anytime soon. It got me to thinking, Why her? Why is this song so dang popular? Well, for one thing, it pushes the envelope. Who ever thought a song with such blunt lyrics would ever actually make its way onto mainstream radio? I certainly didn’t. I loved the song right away, but thought that the majority of society would deem it too inappropriate. Boy, was I wrong. Maybe that’s why it has such a massive fan base.

“Saved” by Casey Kasem

Monday, July 28th, 2008

There I was, starting my morning the same way I do everyday; Wake-up, walk to the kitchen, drink some apple juice and turn on the TV to watch my beloved re-runs of Saved By The Bell. Sounds lame, and okay, I’ll just admit it; a little juvenile…but it really starts my morning off right. Seeing Screech ogle at Lisa Turtle’s every hair flip never fails to make me laugh.

But, today’s Saved By The Bell re-run gave a new meaning to my day. Why? You ask. Well, quicker then Zach can utter the name Kelly Kapowski, emerged the King of all music countdowns, with his very own television cameo; Mr. Casey Kasem. Yes, the same Casey Kasem that counted down the top 40 American songs of the week, every week, for nearly 30 years on his oh-so-famous radio show.

The Pressures of Being Numero Uno

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Saying you’re “Number One” is a pretty heavy statement. It means that you’re the best. It’s means that you rose above the rest. It gives you free reign to brag about how awesome you are. But, it also comes with a “shaky” pedestal. During your reign at number one, there is always someone who doesn’t want you there. There is always someone or something trying to take your crown. And, once you’re number one you only have one place to go: down. With that being said, who really wants to be #1? Who wants to go through the struggle of climbing to the top only to hold on for dear life when you finally get there?
